OPAPA Team Completes Training

OPAPA conducts training for ODL

To get ready for the Online Distance Learning (ODL) service of the Open Academy for Philippine Agriculture (OPAPA), the OPAPA e-Learning team recently conducted a training workshop for content developers, training coordinators, system administrators, and area coordinators. The workshop was held at PhilRice CES on May 31-June 1.














Participants of the ODL training listens attentively and take down important notes of the speakers.

The training aimed at discussing the concept of ODL and how to use the Moodle system, customize course settings, upload course resources, create activities (forums, assignments), and track user activity at the end of the training.OPAPA e-Learning Team Leader Ronan Zagado was the training coordinator and the resource speakers were Andrei Lanuza, PhilRice Sr. SRS and Angelo Agujo, Head, Instructional Technology Unit, Center for Learner-Centered Instruction and Research De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

OPAPA will be using Moodle as its learning management system platform for its ODL programs. The prototype OPAPA online courses can be accessed at http://moodle.openacademy.ph. These courses are on “Minus One Element Technique (MOET)” and “How to make the Maligaya Rice Hull Stove.” To access these courses, you just need to create an account. A notification will be sent to your email address to authenticate your account. After authentication, you can already enroll to the course you like.

DLS-GSB Faculty Complete Training















The faculty of the De La Salle - Graduate School of Business (DLS-GSB) completed their Moodle 101 Basic Training for Online Teachers last May 26, 2007 at the RCBC Makati Campus. Dr. Benito Teehankee and Angelo Anthony Agujo (that's me!) facilitated the session. This is the second batch of faculty who have been trained in Moodle and shows the commitment of DLS-GSB to provide innovative services for its students. An internal survey of DLS-GSB indicates positive experiences with Moodle and online learning.
